Suyon 🌿

Suyon was an Igorot man from Bontoc, Mountain Province who lived in the Igorot Village on the Philippine Reservation. In between performing dances, he would read newspapers to learn English. He was also reported to have been a skilled sipa player. He died during the World’s Fair on July 15, 1904 from pneumonia at age 30. His brain is preserved in the Smithsonian.
